I took a break from writing for a few days to spend my time at home in a relaxed way. I was able to spend time with my family in this difficult time, and it was very nice.
Today, I gave the sermon at our service. I gave it on Aunt Carla. It was an extended version of the five minute talk I gave at her funeral service. I again described her warmth, her holiness, and her passion for others.
At the end, a family thanked me for my words. They had just lost a dear friend to cancer in a similar situation last week. They told me what I said was exactly what they needed to hear.
I can only give thanks to God for my words. This week is the second time I’ve preached, and both time, my words have had a marked impact on the attendees. I can only assume this, too, is God working; he helps me with what I should say, and brings to the services people who must hear it.
Blogging will begin regularly again. I go back to work tomorrow at 6:30 AM. Sleep soon.
